HOW TO - Whitelist Ansys in Endpoint Security / Antivirus Software

Description
Many (full list) modern Endpoint Security/Protection software products can block Ansys from running properly, corrupt an Ansys installation, or both.
Ansys has literally hundreds of executable files, scripts and .dll's that get utilized at different times when using Ansys (not just at startup). This list also grows as new versions are released. As a result, it's not practical to exclude Ansys on a file-by-file basis in your security software. Instead, Ansys installation folders should be excluded/whitelisted from your software.
Solution
Important
If you are excluding these folders in response to a problem and that persists after excluding these folders, it's likely that the AV blocked required installation files/actions at the time of installing and caused a corrupt installation. In this case, you will need to Comprehensive Uninstall and Reinstall Ansys after these folders have been whitelisted and the settings have taken effect on the endpoint.
The process varies by AV vendor, but the folders that need to be excluded are the same.
- Read the important message above.
- Exclude/Whitelist the following Ansys folders in your endpoint security / antivirus software:
Note:
Your IT Department must perform these steps if your computer is centrally managed.
C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\
C:\Program Files\AnsysEM\
