In this case, when Structures 2024R2 was installed on the workstation, Inventor would crash shortly after launching.

Description/Cause

It was determined that the Inventor CAD plug-in was previously configured for an older version, in this case 2024R1. The previous configuration was causing a conflict and causing Inventor to crash.

Solution

1.  Un-configure the Inventor plug-in for all previous versions of Ansys using step #1 in Product & CAD Configuration Manager for the previous version. (ex: Product & CAD Configuration Manager 2024R1)
2. Configure the Inventor plug-in for Ansys 2024R2 (be sure to use Product & CAD Configuration Manager 2024R2)
