HOW TO - Test if a Dell Motherboard has Failed

Description
If you Dell laptop won't post and you suspect a failed motherboard, there is one test that typically requested by Dell tech support.
Note
This procedure was for a Dell Precision 7560, but will likely work on other Precision models and may others.
Solution
- Remove the bottom case from the laptop and disconnect the battery.
- Hold down the M key
- While holding the M key, plug in AC power and press the power button.
- Release the M and power buttons, watch the power led status light for any illumination (often found on the front edge of Precision Laptops).
- No response from the power led light signifies the motherboard has likely failed.
