HOW TO - Grant Users Access to Ansys Cloud Burst Compute

                          Authored by Heribert Colombo July 10th, 2026 20 views 0 likes KB3869421

                          Overview

Before users can submit simulations using Ansys Cloud Burst Compute, an Ansys Support Coordinator (ASC) or Administrator must configure the organization's Ansys Cloud subscription, assign user access, and ensure the required network connectivity is available.

This article describes the administrator tasks required to enable Ansys Cloud Burst Compute for Lumerical FDTD users.

                          Prerequisites

Before configuring Ansys Cloud Burst Compute, verify the following:

                          • Your organization has an active Ansys Cloud subscription and Credits
                          • You are an Ansys Support Coordinator (ASC) or Administrator in Ansys Admin Portal

                          Firewall requirements

If your organization restricts outbound internet access, ensure your IT department has allowlisted the required Ansys Cloud domains and disabled SSL inspection for them:

                          Core Domains:

                          • *.ansys.com
                          • *.onscale.com

                          Required URLs:

                          • admin.ansys.com
                          • ansysaccount.b2clogin.com
                          • data-service.ansys.com
                          • hps.ansys.com
                          • portal.ansys.com
                          • portal-bff.ansys.com
                          • sockets.prod.portal.onscale.com
                          • solve.prod.portal.onscale.com
                          • fonts.googleapis.com
                          • fonts.gstatic.com

                          Add users:

                          1. Navigate to Ansys Admin Portal and sign in with your Ansys account.
                            • If prompted, select your Organization's Cloud Subscription.
                          2. Users must first be invited, by the Administrator. Click on Users → Invite Users and enter the email address of the wanted user.
                            • Users will receive an invitation email that must be accepted before access can be assigned.
                            • Invitations expire after 30 days. If necessary, invitations can be resent from the Pending Invitations page
                          3. Once the user accepts, the administrator is able to grant the access to the products.
                          4. Navigate to Product Access
                            1. Select the desired product
                            2. Click on Assign Users
                            3. Select the wanted user from the dropdown and click Assign
                              • NOTE: Only users who have both, Ansys Cloud access and Cloud Burst Compute product access can submit cloud simulations.
                            4. Once assigned, the users can use the company's credits towards their simulations

                          Important notes:

                          • Users must be assigned both Ansys Cloud access and Cloud Burst Compute product access before they can submit simulations
                          • Once access has been assigned, users can consume your organization's available cloud credits when submitting Cloud Burst Compute jobs
                          • Administrators can monitor cloud credit usage and remaining balances from the Credits page in the Ansys Admin Portal.
