Solution

There are two potential solutions to this problem.   The first is the easiest to implement.

Solution #1 - Environmental Variable

Set the following environment variable on the computer you are remoting into.  This solution doesn't work in all situations.
QT_OPENGL=desktop

Solution #2 - Utilize nVIDIA's OpenGL RDP

Obtain and run "nvidiaopenglrdp.exe" application provided by Nvidia on the computer you are remoting into. You will still use the same Windows RDP client, but this utilize enables OpenGL support over RDP which can improve performance and in this case, solves a problem. You must register in order to download this application.
  1. Download the application from - https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-opengl-rdp
